FreeDOM offers an intuitive, easy-to-use Encounter Editor to record patients office visits. All FreeDOM data forms (called "editors") are navigable with the keyboard and the mouse. Study the main Encounter Editor in Figure 1 below. Fields highlighted in yellow are required to contain data in order to save the record. Almost all required fields are already populated with data transferred from the Patient record. Areas highlighted in blue are the "core" information areas of the encounter (Diagnoses, Authorizations, Referrals, and Services).

Figure 1 - Encounter Editor Encounter Additional Editor - The Additional Editor is simply an extension of the main Encounter Editor (note the "Additional" tab is active directly under the Save/Cancel buttons). The Additional Editor contains fields that are used less frequently than those in the main editor, but also contains fields that accommodate some specialty records such as Obstetric and Spinal Manipulation (chiropractic) records (Figure 2).

| Figure 2 - Encounter Additional Editor Encounter Clinical (Vitals) Editor - The Clinical Editor is part of the Encounter record and also part of the FreeDOM EMR. As you can see in Figure 3, it contains the Chief Complaint, History of Presenting Illness, and Patient Vitals.
